About the proper amount of shochu and the time for the sake to come out.

The author, Nori, is a strong drinker, and even though he drinks a lot, he is often energetic the next day, but it is a shochu that everyone is not familiar with.

How much is the “proper amount of shochu” when drinking the shochu comfortably?

Drink in moderation.

Of course, there are individual differences in the “proper amount” of alcohol, such as body size (height and weight), gender, age, and ability to break down alcohol.

This time, I will introduce the proper amount of alcohol and the time to drink.

☆Generally recommended amount of alcohol consumed

*According to the “National Health Promotion Movement in the 21 Century” recommended by the the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare of Japan,

“Moderate and moderate drinking” is 10 ~ 19 g of pure alcohol per day for men and up to 9 g per day for women, which is the lowest mortality rate, and it has been shown that the mortality rate increases as the amount of alcohol increases per day. Therefore, the average daily amount of pure alcohol is about 20 g as “moderate and moderate drinking” for Japanese people with normal ability to metabolize alcohol.

The reason why women drink less alcohol than men is that, in general, women break down alcohol at a slower rate than men, and even if they drink the same amount of alcohol, the rate of organ damage is high, so about 1/2 of women drink alcohol as much as men do.

Now, pure alcohol content refers to the amount of pure alcohol contained in the alcoholic beverage. The amount of pure alcohol can be determined by the following formula.

Amount (ml) of sake × alcohol content/100 × 0.8 (specific gravity of alcohol) = pure alcohol content (g)

☆ the amount of alcohol broken down

It’s important to know how fast alcohol breaks down so you can measure how long it takes you to get it out of your system. The decomposition rate varies from person to person, but can generally be determined by the following formula:.

Body weight (kg) x 0.1 = Amount of alcohol that can be broken down per hour (g)

In other words, 6 g for a person who weighs 60 kg and 7 g for a person who weighs 70 kg are the standard amount of alcohol that can be broken down in 1 hour.

the time it takes for alcohol to leave the body

If you know the amount of alcohol you break down and the amount of pure alcohol you drink, you can find out how long you can drink.

Example:A person who weighs 50 kg drinks 1 glass (500 ml) of beer with 5% alcohol content.

☆Calculation of the amount of pure alcohol

500 ml (amount of alcohol (ml)) x 5 (alcohol content)/100 x 0.8 (specific gravity of alcohol) = 20 g (pure alcohol content)

☆Calculate the amount of alcohol that can be broken down per hour

50 (body weight (kg)) x 0.1 = 5 (amount of alcohol that can be broken down per hour (g))

・the time it takes for alcohol to leave the body

20 g divided by 5 g = 4 hours.

※The above figures are only a guide. The decomposition speed of alcohol varies from person to person, and it also depends on your physical condition on the day you drink.

Of course, the ability of alcohol to decompose changes depending on the physical condition and various situations of the day, so it doesn’t work as calculated.

However, as for the type of alcohol you drink for the first time, how much pure alcohol is the basic knowledge? I think it will be useful to keep in touch with your physical condition if you know about it.

I would like you to drink a lot of Shochu, but your body may not get used to the decomposition of unfamiliar drinks.

Please refer to the data below and enjoy shochu!
